Why Contractors Come to Gulfroot
Dypsis cabadae gives contractors a clustering palm with a cleaner, more upright silhouette than Areca — narrower trunk cluster, more vertical frond angle, less of the sprawling width that makes Areca impractical in tight spaces. It is specified by landscape architects who want a tropical palm presence in a contained footprint. Almost no SWFL contractor or nursery has content targeting this species at estate scale. Gulfroot sources through Homestead growers who maintain 25G stock.
SWFL Field Performance
Zone 10a–11. Part shade to full sun. Moderate water needs; consistent irrigation for best appearance. Moderate salt tolerance — protected coastal settings. Multi-stem clustering form reaches 10–15ft tall with a narrower spread than Areca Palm. Performs well in SWFL humidity and heat. Cold-sensitive below 32°F.
Direct from Homestead — not through a distributor.
